Shipment Pallets

Shipment Pallets are used for sending goods to the customer location, They are typically of 1 time use and hence, the construction is not meant for repeated use. They are cheaper than warehouse pallets, however, they comply with the strict quality norms demanded by export shipments

Warehouse Pallets

A warehouse pallet is one which is used for storage of material. The pallet may be kept on ground, or on racks. They are bought with a long term view, for 3 years or more. They are sturdy in construction.

TREATMENT GIVEN TO PALLETS

Certain treatments are given to wooden pallets to make them complaint with International standards. (ISPM regulations- International Plant Protection Convention). The pallets (or other wood packaging material) must meet debarked standards, and are treated by either of the following means under the supervision of an approved agency:

Heat treatment: The wood must be heated to achieve a minimum core temperature of 56 °C (132.8 °F) for at least 30 minutes. Pallets treated via this method bear the initials HT near the IPPC logo.

Chemical fumigation: The wood is fumigated with methyl bromide. Pallets treated via this method bear the initials MB near the IPPC logo.

Treated wood pallets are stamped on two opposite sides indicating either HT for heat treated or MB for methyl bromide treatment.
